Bin 905’s position as a fixture on the Fourth Street Southwest shopping strip was threatened when the June 2013 flood washed through the Mission neighbourhood, forcing the specialty liquor store to close. It didn’t officially re-open until August 2014, but assistant manager Jenny Book says that resulting downtime gave staff a chance to reinvent the place. “We had a chunk of time when we weren’t here, and things were a total disaster,” Jenny says of the closure. But, she adds, “It gave us an opportunity to beautify.”
