With over 50,000 titles in stock, this brightly lit, well organized used bookstore is every reader’s dream. Since opening Companion Book in 2004, Paul Kirkpatrick has ensured the store is carefully curated, selecting only books in nearly new or mint condition.

“We turn away as many books as we take in. We’re the biggest and cleanest used bookstore in all of Burnaby,” says Paul proudly. “We’ve got hundreds of titles coming in every day, and to fill in the gaps we order new books every week.”

Stepping inside Companion Book, you’ll find all the books are neatly organized with your shopping experience in mind: by category, then by author. The only thing you’re likely to find lying on the floor is Companion Book’s fluffy feline resident, Buddha.

Great staff, very helpful. More than fair in their buyback policies. They will only keep a certain number of any given title on hand so you may be refused a buyback on some items even if they are in good condition. Smaller selection but well worth the visit. They really care about the customer. Will visit again.

Not impressed with this store. Bought a used book there, read it and wanted to sell it back to them. They refused even though book was still in very good condition.
