My friend has had an appointment for a surgical procedure since early December with Dr.Chu.I booked off two days of work to look after her post op.I made arrangements for a dog sitter $$. I drove 60 miles to Toronto.Spent 60.00 on parking. Then we arrive to the appointment with all the paperwork that says " Nothing to eat or drink after midnight" and confirmed surgical time as 11.30 am.First we are told No surgery is scheduled (very rudly) then asked to pay $60.00 for consultation! What?

Same as others. No professional advise at all and yet charged me $60. Was very rough in actual process, & charged extra on top of what my insurance deemed appropriate. Also LOTS OF ISSUES post-op. Excessive bleeding that warranted an emergency visit, excessive swelling days after surgery. Pain in jaw/neck developed 3 days post-op. Very dismissal with concerns and follow ups. Just a note, I had prior impacted wisdom tooth removed by another dentist with NO SWELLING and minimal bleeding.

Similar experience I had, feel like wasted my $60 I could go somewhere else for a free evaluation. I went because out of respect of my dentist. But I won't go back there to get anything done

Think twice about going to Dr. Alfred Chu!

I had a consultation on February 6, 2012 to see Dr. Alfred Chu about my tooth and gum area feeling slightly off. I waited 40 minutes to see him and the consultation lasted 3 minutes! It cost $60! He asked a few questions, tapped my teeth, touched the gum area and looked at the x-ray which I had provided. He talked and wrote really fast, giving me the impression he was rushing to finish my consultation and move on to the patient in the other room having his wisdom teeth extracted. He gave me no useful information, advice or solutions. He didn't know what was wrong and just told me to come back if it got worse. What a waste of my time and such a horribly bad and upsetting experience! I voiced my displeasure about the entire experience and the assistant said she would call me back the next day. She never bothered to call me back and after four days I had to call the office instead. How unprofessional and irresponsible! All in all, I was very unsatisfied with the service, long wait time, super short consultation and the excessive fee.
