Whoever came up with the line “It’s a Dog’s Life,” must have been a customer at Happy Tails Dog Spa. Step inside the store and you’ll soon see that this is a place where canines rule and storeowner Jerome Pascaris wouldn’t have it any other way. Jerome’s passion is pets. And it shows.
From its top of the line nutrition products and pet accessories to its highly regarded grooming services, Jerome’s animal emporium has one singular mission — to make happy tails!
And it’s been like that ever since the store first opened back in July 1996. “I was in the restaurant business originally, and at the time I was dating someone who wanted to be a groomer,” Jerome explains. “We both loved pets, and I had years of service industry experience. So a light bulb went off — let’s open a store!”
Locating in Mount Pleasant, a neighbourhood with a large pooch population, ensured a good customer base. But while “location, location, location” is the mantra of every successful small business owner, Jerome also attributes the store’s popularity to two other factors: service and selection.
