Dadeo is a retro ‘50s style diner, and you definitely feel like you’ve stepped through a time machine when you walk into the restaurant. They serve great southern classics, such as jambalaya and gumbo. This place is a great place to go on a cold winter day to get some great southern comfort food. I definitely recommend their southern fried chicken!
The title says it all: Meat, meat and more meat. This restaurant serves up nice piles of smoked meat. It really doesn’t get more southern than brisket, pulled pork and ribs, smoked at low heat for hours. All these different kinds of smoked meat can be served with some classic sides, such as macaroni and cheese, baked beans and garlic fries.
TW’s BBQ Smoke House definitely has a nice, homey feel to it. When you walk into the restaurant, you’re blasted with the smell of slow-smoked meat. All of their sauces, rubs, and seasonings are all made in house. Serving up great sandwiches, burgers, and smoked meat, they really do Southern comfort food right. I definitely love their ribs and their cranberry orange chipotle BBQ sauce!
Sloppy Hoggs Roed Hus serves up huge platters of smoked meats, sandwiches and exotic sausages. They serve alligator, kangaroo and wild boar sausages, in case you’re feeling adventurous! Their namesake sandwich comes with more than20 ounces of meat served on a waffle bun. Definitely come hungry, because the portions here are huge!
Fired Up BBQ has been serving up amazing southern BBQ for a number of years now. It’s located right on 99 Street and 62 Avenue. They serve great sandwiches and barbecue plates, and do take out, too. They have a large number of great Southern sides to try, as well. Nothing beats having some of their great southern comfort food, and then washing it down with their house-brewed iced tea! Yum!
Smokehouse BBQ is located right on 124 Street and 108 Avenue. It serves up a little bit of everything southern, including catfish, ribs, chicken, Cajun calamari and beef brisket. There are so many options for southern comfort here that you’re bound to find something you like. They also run a food truck during the summer months, where you can try their famous smoked bacon bomb.
