I love this place. Best clubs in Ottawa. The atmosphere is a bit stale (sort of a dark old sports bar type of feel), and their prices are a bit on the high side, but their food is so darn good. When I moved to Ottawa, a friend recommended Ada's, a diner he had frequented for many years. Five us went in early January '08 and I've been there probably 3 times a week, every week, ever since. Ada, Wilf and Jaz know almost evrybody by name who come in the door. Sure it's crowded and noisy, but what a happy place to have a meal. And her soups are fantastic. When Ada knows you like a particular soup, she will offer it to you even though it's not on the menu. Talk about PR; this diner has it in spades. I ate a fabulous sandwich and my sister said her sandwich was the best vegetarian sandwich she ever had. Desserts looked really appealing but were not as amazing as we expected. Five of my girlfriends and I decided to try out Woody's for dinner and cocktails as it came highly recommended by one of our foodie friends. We were promptly greeted at the door by a friendly server who showed us to our candlelit table beside a fireplace. My friends and I each decided to order a different cocktail or martini and try a few sips of each - my favourites were the Woody's Caesar and Dream Soda. For dinner I tried the dinner special - a generous half rack of pork side ribs with jalapeno apple bbq sauce, homemade creamed corn, mashed potatoes and a buttermilk biscuit, it fell away from the bone effortlessly and was cooked to perfection. I also had a bite of the sliders that my friend had been raving about and the combination of carmelized onion and brie cheese was delicious! We all had plans to go out to another spot after, but were having so much fun at Woody's that we decided to stay. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this pub to anyone in the future. Lire plus
