I waited over 90 minutes for a delivery order, and when it got to me I was told I could not pay with a credit card. I had no other method of payment, so I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for him to go and bring back the credit card machine - he had the nerve to ask me to give him my card and he would bring it back. Seriously?? Needless to say, the teriyaki was cold and the sushi was not even fresh when I finally ate. This was absolutely unacceptable service. I would not recommend this to anyone!
We have been coming here for years and we understand that they are usually busy around dinner time, so we normally call ahead with our order. We always get our sushi with brown rice and they are generally very good about it. We had called ahead about an hour, and when we got there, our order was not ready. It was very busy but we sat for an ADDITIONAL 45 minutes and watched as other tables were served around us - mostly with food from the grill. We weren't even offered tea refills until my friend got up and asked for it. When our order finally arrived, it was made with a mixture of brown rice and white rice (obviously they are cutting down costs and thought we wouldn't notice). We cannot eat white rice due to an allergy though, so we had to send it back. We waited another 40 minutes and it didn't look like they were coming out with our order anytime soon, so we left in disgust. We had already paid but decided to cut our losses and not waste any more time. It used to be one of our favourite Japanese restaurants but they ate obviously understaffed and their customer service is seriously declining.
Best sushi around. Better than so many places. I go weekly.
First time at Bento Box - place was casual but inviting and spotless. Service was first rate - felt like a family-run place. Sushi was very fresh - for the price, likely better than anything outside of Toronto
We regularly get take out at Bento Box, though I've often wanted to stay and take in the clean, calm atmosphere. The food is always consistently delicious. I spend most of my time in Toronto, but when I get sushi in Burlington, Bento Box is the only place I go. It's a family-run business, and the owners are always pleasant, friendly and seem genuinely interested in making it a good experience for customers. Highly recommended.
