I am so glad this place is going out of business. I was there maybe 10 years ago, and had that classic buy-something-or-get-out experience and never went back. He didnt actually tell me to leave, but he did rudely ask if I was buying something today and when I said I waa just checking the store out for the first time, he walked away mumbling. Disnt feel like asking him for permission to try the few guitars that did interest me, so I left. I cant believe this guy ever sold anything.

Noooo… dont do it. signs say no pictures, no cell phones. WOW. I mentioned Ibanez guitar and he walked away waving his arms yelling I was not a smart shopper.. repeating it until I left. The woman behind the counter turned away from me and ignored me... maybe to protect her job??? Who knows. Terrible experience trying to find my son his first guitar. Terrible experience shopping at all! I will NEVER go back.

The salesperson actually told me to leave "now", when I said I was just starting to look for a guitar and probably wasn't going to buy today. Strange signs on the wall "No pictures" "no cell phones", etc.

Stay away form that place

Went to shop for a guitar today, the older salesman ask me if i was there to look or to buy. After trying 2 guitars i was ask to leave the store. Terrible shopping experience, dont even bother stopping there.

Yes,I've read all the negative comments about this store, I needed to do some price comparison shopping, on some guitar accessories: guitar bag,a guitar tuner, guitar strap and a replacement strap hook, and some picks. I found the prices here very much in line with prices offered elsewhere,even gave me a discount, only paid $72.99 for everything. They also treated me with respect with a high level of professionalism. I highly recommend this store. 4 out of 5 stars.

From out of town but in Ottawa for the day and decided to see what type of guitars Intercontinental sold. After trying out three guitars (one listed at $3,000.00). They either required a major setup or sounded terrible. Have been playing professionally for over 40 years and when I mentioned to the sales man they were not the type of guitar I would be interested he asked me to leave. If you are starting out this would not be the place to shop.

Wish I'd read the reviews before going in...

I went into the store today looking to buy either a clarinet or saxophone. The owner showed me three clarinets. Then, I asked if he could show me some saxophones. He told me that he was there to sell, not to show instruments. I explained that I needed to see the instruments and know their prices before making a decision. He pointed at one saxophone on the wall and said: "There's the price, $1100". Before I could answer, he told me that I was wasting his time and told me to get out.

Stay Away

I'm in the market to buy a good classical guitar. I went to that store to see what brands they carry. First, I can tell you they don't know how to take care of their instruments. No humidifiers anywhere in the store and plenty of guitars hanging in front of windows. I was in the store looking around for 5 min when the old owner came to see me. I explained that I was shopping for a nylon string guitar, but he kept showing me acoustic guitars. After a couple of minutes he asked me if I was going to buy a guitar today. I said no, I'm looking at your products and trying to see if something is good for me. He just lost it , saying that I just wanted to try a model at his store and that I was gonna buy it on internet. He basically threw me out of his store. Really aggressively following me to the parking lot. That guy is just putting a name on guitars that are made in china. The price is super high and min. quality . I should of have read the many complaints agains him on the guitar forums. I feel bad for all the beginners who will get ripped off in that store.

The owner was OK. The quality was pretty good and the prices were very cheap compared to other stores. If you are looking for a beginner instrument this place is good enough. I must agree the signs that were put up on the walls weren't very welcoming. e.g. Please try out instruments for 5 MINUTES. If going to try out for longer please ask for extra time. e.g. You don't need to ask for your wive's permission. We already asked her.

Worst Experience Ever!!

Like the first person that reviewed this store, the owner was beyond rude to me. I went into the store to buy a guitar because I wanted to re-learn how to play. He showed me the ones in the range of 700-1000 dollars. He said he would give me a deal if I bought one that day. I told him I needed to research what I wanted and he lost his mind. He told me to "get out" and showed me the door. Then he yelled at me as I was leaving and called me a "liar" and "lying woman" for not buying his product. Awful, awful, awful. Do not go to this store!!

Shocking experience!

The owner of the store was rude and ignorant. I asked questions about a discounted instrument and he basically freaked out. I felt harassed and told me to get out. He followed me to my car and I felt threatened. His assistant was no help and gave me false information about the product..They don't belong in a service business. Just an awful experience!

Crazy and rude owner

I totally agree with the previous review. The owner showed me the door and asked me to leave when i asked more about how a hormonica works. Stay away from this store.

Terrible Quality, Rude Service, Sky-High Prices

I can honestly say this was the most negative shopping experiecnce I've ever had. The quality of the products is just awful, and when I asked about the components of a guitar, I was told "not to worry" since the store has been around for 45 years. The guitars I saw were very expensive, most for over $1000. Stay clear of the location. There are many other stores in Ottawa that can service your musical needs. Only go into this location if you are skeptical; you will return and review about the rude service, shabby products, and suprisingly crude signs that pepper the store. Parking was ample.
